Criteria
   
As a registered counsellor :
  1. Counselling practitioner with honors diploma or above (or overseas equivalent) in counselling. 
  2. OR Counselling practitioner with honors diploma or above in other areas AND have taken a number of Counselling Courses which approved by the Asian Professional Counselling Association (H.K.) (Listed below) AND have practiced at least 250 hours of individual face to face counselling with regular clinical supervision at the time of registrationOR have practiced at least 500 hours of face to face group counselling.
  3. The regular supervision must be received from a Counselling Trained Clinical Supervisor. Applicant is required to fill out form and have your supervisor sign and date 
 
As a registered clinical supervisor :
  1. Counselling practitioner with Postgraduate Certificate or above in Counselling Supervision (or overseas equivalent).
  2. OR Counselling practitioner with at least seven years of clinical experience in Clinical Supervision.
  3. AND Counselling practitioner who is currently providing regular clinical supervision. Applicant is required to submit updated CV for approval. Counselling practitioner is expected to have met the basic criteria for registered counsellor. 
 
Applicant is expected to have taken the following foundation course in counselling:
  1. Theory and technique in Counselling and Psychotherapy or equivalent.
  2. Micro-skills in Counselling or equivalent.
  3. Ethics: Professional issues and personal awareness or equivalent.
  4. Group Counselling/Facilitation or equivalent.
  5. At least 400 hours of Internship in counselling or field placement.
  6. Any two of the following elective courses:
 
  • Child counselling.
  • Adolescent counselling.
  • Adult counselling.
  • Family counselling/therapy.
  • Couple counselling/therapy.
  • Marriage counselling/therapy.
